About
A mat that slid, in a room with no air conditioning
Ramdev is a sole proprietorship based in Madhapur, Telangana, operating online as Belvera Circle (belveracircle.shop).
How this started
A first mat bought online for a room in Madhapur with a ceiling fan and no air conditioning. Fifteen minutes into the first session the hands were sliding forward in downward dog, and no amount of wiping fixed it — the surface was simply the wrong material for a humid room.
The second mat was chosen on density and closed-cell surface rather than colour, and it solved the problem completely. That gap — between what a mat listing tells you and what actually decides whether it works — is why this shop exists.
Grip is not a feature of the photograph. It is a property of the surface, and it changes when you sweat.
Our commitment
Grip tested damp
We test traction on a wet mat, not a dry one, because that is the condition that matters and the one nobody photographs.
Density published
Thickness alone tells you nothing. We list the density too, since that is what decides whether a block holds under a hand.
Told what it is not for
An 8 mm mat is not a balance mat and a soft block is not a support block. The listing says which practice each item suits.
Our story
Every mat here has been practised on for at least a week in a warm room. Two we ordered never made it to the site: one shed a fine dust for a fortnight, the other went slippery the moment a palm was damp.
We keep saying the unhelpful thing out loud — that a new PVC mat is slippery for the first few sessions and needs breaking in, that a cork surface behaves differently dry and damp. It costs us a few sales and saves a lot of returns.
Online only
There is no showroom and no walk-in counter. Belvera Circle trades entirely online and ships across India from Madhapur, Telangana, which keeps overheads off the price of the goods.
